World of Monkey Island closes its doors Posted by mymipage Comments: 1
I know this is a little late, but just at the end of the year, The World of Monkey Island (WMI) updated their last newspost with a heartfelt goodbye. From everyone at MI Legend: it is very sad to see WMI go. It brought a lot of good times to MI fans and was a great Monkey Island resource. Farewell to Dalixam, Haggis, and Paco and best of luck with the rest of their lives.
However, both The SCUMM Bar (which closed a few years ago) and WMI have said that they may return if MI5 is released, so we have added a new poll: When do you foresee MI5? 5 years? 10 years?
Lets hope we see it soon, so that those wonderful sites will return, and we can see a bit of a buzz around the community again... |

How to write an Adventure Game Posted by Carla Comments: 0
The Adventure genre is, it has long been proclaimed, a dead genre. Nobody plays them. Nobody wants them. Nobody good makes them. Joe Martin, the author of this quote, formulates what every adventure-fan has thought about, at least once. But instead of starting a nostalgic river of tears for the lost and never-made games, he makes an attempt to revive the spirit of adventure games by showing us how adventure games are made. In his article, which is very worth reading, he gives us an introduction into the secret of how to write a good adventure games. For that, he talked with David Cage (Fahrenheit) and Dave Grossman (Monkey Island, DotT). So if you've got some spare time and the technical skills...what keeps you waiting? ;) Check out his article here.

Oh.. are there new hopes for MI5? Steve Purcell send some very nice images to our friends at World of Monkey Island. Although he claims that they're not connected to any piratey game - they certainly make our hopes grow! See them here: Image 1 Image 2 Image 3
